The Exclusive Beverages Available During the 2024 I ❤ Pluto Pub Crawl
The 2024 I Heart Pluto Pub Crawl is coming up on Friday, February 16. Here are some of the custom cocktails and beers that will be available for a limited time during the festival!
Pub Crawl Locations
❤ Sleipnir Fossa from Drinking Horn Meadery
Many may have heard the Norse mythological tale of Odin’s famous 8-legged steed Sleipnir, but did you also know that there is a unique geologic feature on Pluto named for it as well? These fractures on Pluto’s surface reveal red geologic material underneath. For this custom cocktail, the mead masters at Drinking Horn begin with their brilliant gem-red colored Unicorn Blood Mead on the bottom, add a floater of Bluetooth Mead on top, and then rim the glass with nostalgia-inducing Pop Rocks. Astronomy and Norse Mythology combine realms for a flavor that won’t bee forgotten! Drinking Horn will also have live music from Groove Tractor from 8-10pm during the Pub Crawl.
❤ Makers and Menders from Mother Road Brewing Co.
Makers and Menders is this year’s limited edition I Heart Pluto beer from Mother Road! This complex imperial porter was aged in a 50/50 mix of traditional and mesquite whiskey barrels and drinks like a black pilsner. The name and can design are an homage to the Sykes brothers, bicycle shop repairmen turned telescope dome designers who professed to be “makers and menders of anything.” The story goes that Percival Lowell was walking down Aspen street, saw their advertisement outside their shop, and basically said — “bet.” One of the Sykes brothers worked at Lowell until he retired! You can see their ingenuity reflected in the Clark Telescope and Pluto Discovery Telescope domes on Mars Hill today. This beer is available in cans and on tap at Mother Road Taproom!
❤ Pluto Sunset from Historic Barrel + Bottle House – Downtown
Fans of easy sipping will love this sunny, refreshing drink! Made with Reposado tequila, acid adjusted orange juice, Cointreau, and grenadine, the Pluto Sunset is sure to be the perfect end to your day.
❤ Vous Nebula from Rendezvous
Feel like getting a little fancy? This classy, complex cocktail from Rendezvous Lounge at the Monte Vista Hotel is made with butterfly pea flower-infused drumshanbo gin, lemon juice, crème de mure, and hibiscus ginger syrup.
❤ Frozen Orbit from McMillan Bar & Kitchen
The McMillan is joining the pub crawl for the first time ever this year, and they’re starting out strong with this sweet treat of a cocktail! The Frozen Orbit features butterfly pea flower infused gin, Pimm’s liqueur, beet puree, raspberry, lime juice and demerara.
❤ Planet 9 Paloma from Dark Sky Beer Garden
Our mouths are watering just looking at this tall glass of fruity flavor! This stellar twist on the classic Paloma recipe is made with Peach Street Distillers Agave, Squirt soda, lime, and a dinosaur gummy. One sip will have you on cloud (or should we say planet?) nine!
❤ Pluto Yard Jar from The Lumberyard
This blue dream is made with vodka, Blue Curacao, peach schnapps, lime juice, grenadine, Starry Lemon Lime soda, and finished off with a sugared rim! Pair it with an out-of-this-world Pluto Burger: a 1/3 lb fresh Burger patty topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, crispy jalapeños, and moon cheese aioli, dusted with jalapeño Cheeto crumbs, lettuce, tomato and onion on a toasted Brioche Bun. Comes with your choice of side!
❤ The Longest Orbit from Atria
It takes Pluto a whopping 248 years to complete an orbit around the Sun, giving it the longest orbit of any planet in our solar system. Luckily you won’t have to wait long to try this tasty treat from Atria restaurant. Made with charcoal vodka, Lime, simple syrup, Cointreau, cranberry juice, and edible glitter, this refined cocktail will send you into orbit!
❤ ‘I Am a Planet, Damn It!’ from Starlite Lanes
This fun, sparkly beverage makes a perfect addition to any bowling session! Made with purple edible glitter and topped with a heart-shaped lollipop.
